The argument for a folder is that it fits in a pocket. The argument against one is everything else -- a pivot, a lock, a spring, and a blade you have to deploy before it is a knife.
The Kobold removes that argument. 6.00" overall and 2.10 oz, full tang, no lock and no action because it needs neither. It is a knife the entire time it is on you.
Stainless steels normally trade toughness for corrosion resistance, because the chromium that protects the blade ends up bound into chromium carbides -- and those are where a hard-used edge chips. MagnaCut is designed around that problem, keeping the chromium in solution. You get genuine stainless corrosion resistance with toughness in tool-steel territory, on a blade small enough that neither property has anywhere to hide.
Battleworn is Heretic's deliberately distressed finish -- the wear is applied at the factory, on purpose. Worth understanding before you buy: it is a look, not a protective coating, and its practical effect is that new marks from real use disappear into it instead of standing out against a clean surface. A knife you will actually carry stays looking the way it left the shop.
2.625" of Bowie profile, 0.11" thick. The clipped point puts the tip lower and forward, which makes it better at piercing and at fine work than a drop point of the same length, while the belly behind it still slices.
Orange G-10 -- glass-reinforced laminate, machined rather than moulded, gripping better wet than dry. It is set on press-fit pins rather than screws, which is the right call on a knife this size: there is nothing to back out in a pocket and nothing to check before you carry it.
The orange is a working choice as much as a colour. A small fixed blade set down on a tailgate or in a pack is a small fixed blade you can find again.

It was designed by metallurgist Dr. Larrin Thomas, first proposed to Crucible in June 2019, with distribution beginning in April 2021. The design goal was a stainless equivalent of CPM-4V — the toughness and edge-retention balance of CruWear and 4V, with stainless corrosion resistance.
