The Nemesis
The Nemesis is at the large end of what Microtech build as an out-the-front. 10.2" overall with a 4.4" blade, on a handle machined from aircraft alloy rather than moulded -- the size and the material together are most of why it feels the way it does in the hand.
Single-Action OTF
Single-action means the button fires the blade out and the blade is then retracted by hand, rather than driven both ways by the button. The practical difference: a single-action mechanism puts its whole spring behind one job, so deployment is harder and faster than a comparable double-action, at the cost of closing it manually.
M390MK
M390MK is Böhler M390 Microclean, a powder-metallurgy stainless. Powder production gives it a fine, evenly distributed carbide structure rather than the coarse one conventional melting produces, and M390's chromium and vanadium content makes it one of the most wear-resistant stainless steels in production -- it holds an edge a very long time, and it is genuinely stainless while doing it.
The blade is a dagger, stonewash finished. Stonewash is the finish that ages best on a knife that gets handled: it scatters light, so handling marks blend in instead of showing as scratches against a polish.
The Handle and Hardware
5.8" of black hardcoat-anodized aircraft aluminium alloy. Hardcoat anodising is a thick, hard oxide layer grown into the surface of the metal rather than a paint laid on it, so it wears rather than chips. The hardware is double vapor-blast 17-4 stainless.
