Ring Spike

PET-CF — carbon-fiber-reinforced PET. Every Bearly Defense item is made from the same material: polyethylene terephthalate reinforced throughout with carbon fiber. It is an ultra light weight, high-strength engineering composite, and it is 100% non-metallic — no metal core, no metal insert, no metal fastener, no metal anywhere in the part. (The items that ship on a key ring come with a metal ring and a nylon paracord lanyard; the ring is the only metal in the box, and it comes off.)

Pointed tip, dull non-cutting edges. The tip is a genuine point — it is not blunt and it is not blunted. The edges are the opposite: they are not sharpened, and being polymer they will not cut like a knife. A real point with dull, non-cutting edges is exactly what arrives.

Care and limits. The point is user-serviceable — if it dulls or chips, a few passes with a fine file bring it back, and you can re-sharpen the point yourself at home. A polymer point is not steel, though: prying with the tip, twisting it under load, hammering on it, or dropping the item point-first onto concrete can chip or snap it. Treat the point as the fine part of the tool and it lasts; abuse it and it will break. Clean with soap and water.

Quality guarantee. We guarantee our carbon fiber tools will be free of manufacturing defects that affect the function of the item, or they will be replaced free of charge — within 1 year of purchase by an authorized reseller, running from delivery to the reseller, and 90 days from the date of purchase by the final consumer, running from the retail sale. The guarantee covers original manufacturing defects only: it does not cover damage, wear and tear, normal use, or anything else affecting the item. The item must be purchased by the consumer during the reseller guarantee period, or the consumer guarantee does not apply.
